MainStage: Haboob

MainStage is the official performing arts season of the ASU School of Film, Dance and Theatre.

Directed by Xanthia Walker. Written by Marvin González De León. When Vago’s absent father sends him on a quest to find his inheritance buried in the desert along the U.S./Mexico border, he hopes to find financial stability and leave his failures behind. But his mamá and his ex-girlfriend each feel they deserve the inheritance and follow after him into a haboob. From strange encounters with a drunken gravedigger to getting advice from a talking skeleton, anything is possible in this work of a magical realism, a world premiere by ASU MFA playwright Marvin González De León.
