Neha Vedpathak's "Transformation"

Two stones are part of Vedpathak's piece

Neha Vedpathak’s performance addresses cycles of creation, transformation and existence to convey the constantly changing relationship of humans to the land. Focusing on a gentle and repeated gesture, the artist’s hands, and natural materials, the action leads to both creation and destruction.

Vedpathak is a multidisciplinary artist known for her inventive and original process-based practice. She was born in India and received a graduate diploma in painting from Abhinav Kala Maha Vidyalaya in Pune. Vedpathak is a keen observer of her surroundings and has a deep connection to her materials.

This piece is presented in conjunction with "Energy Charge: Connecting to Ana Mendieta," an exhibition on view at the ASU Art Museum Sept. 24–Dec. 31.
