RUS 141 Russian Civilization from Tsars to Putin: The History of the Russian National Anthem

The Soviet national anthem is a memorable melody. It became famous as Soviet athletes racked up gold medals at the Olympics. But when the Soviet Union ended in 1991, Russians found it hard to replace.

We listen to and trace the history of Russia’s national anthems.
