Spring Trombone Day, Featuring Alex Iles

The Arizona State University trombone studio, members of the NAU trombone studio, and players from the community team up to celebrate all things trombone. Our featured guest artist, Alex Iles, is both a fabulous jazz trombonist and a first-call studio musician in Los Angeles.

The group will warm-up and trombone choir rehearsal begin at noon and are followed by panel discussions and a conversation with Iles. The day of trombone wraps up with a concert at 6 p.m. featuring performances by the trombone choirs; Alex Iles; and Jazz Studies faculty Michael Kocour on piano, Dom Moio on drums and Ben Hedquist on bass.
