War and Emotion
Harry Wood Gallery is pleased to present "War and Emotion," an exhibition of works by visiting scholar Mohammad Yousof Asefi.
Born in Kabul in 1961, Asefi has achieved great renown within and beyond Afghanistan for his prolific body of work with its wide range of subject matter and styles. He founded the Asefi Art Gallery Kabul; was a member artist of the Afghanistan National Gallery; and served the Afghan government as a counselor to its Cultural Senate.
In 2002, Asefi received international recognition for his championship of artistic free expression and his heroic resistance to the first Taliban regime in Afghanistan (1996-2001). In 2005 he was honored by the U. S. government’s National Endowment for the Humanities for these efforts.

Gallery Hours: Monday—Friday, 9 a.m.—5 p.m. (gallery closed noon—1 p.m. for lunch)
