Azmat Kahn will present “Will Targeting Change Under the New Administration? Investigating the US Air War against ISIS” as a part of the Center on the Future of War spring speaker series.

Khan is an ASU Future of War Fellow at New America and an investigative journalist focusing on conflict in the Middle East. Her reporting for the PBS series FRONTLINE, Al Jazeera, and BuzzFeed’s Investigative Unit has earned the 2016 Daniel Pearl Award for Outstanding Reporting on South Asia, the 2016 Deadline Club Award for Independent Digital Reporting, and a 2016 Livingston Award nomination in International Reporting. Khan has spent much of the last year investigating the air war in cities across Iraq, visiting the sites of dozens of airstrikes, both coalition and Iraqi; obtaining exclusive documents, photos, and videos; embedding with local forces who coordinate strikes; and conducting more than 150 interviews with strike survivors, civilians who lived under ISIS rule, military forces, and U.S. government officials in charge of the air campaign.
