Women in Sports Reporting
Part of the Humanities Lecture Series at ASU's Downtown Phoenix campus
This event last occurred March 1, 2018
Join Paola Boivin, professor of practice in Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, for this lively presentation on the history of women in sports journalism.
Boivin will address misconceptions, discuss some of the most high-profile issues and conflicts involving women in the field, identify areas where progress has — and hasn't — been made, and talk about how the field can further evolve to be one in which women can continue to contribute successfully.
Her presentation is part of the annual ASU Humanities Lecture Series, sponsored by the faculty of Languages and Cultures in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts. The series offers opportunities to analyze, discuss and interpret current research and events. These public discussions help us understand and appreciate various points of view on political, social and cultural issues.
