2022 Winter BFA Juried Show

Event description

  • Arts and entertainment

Harry Wood Gallery is pleased to present this year’s Winter BFA Juried Show. In this annual exhibition, BFA students from all levels and areas of the ASU School of Art program are eligible to apply. Students showcase work ranging from animation, ceramics, painting, drawing, intermedia, photography, printmaking, sculpture and textiles. This year's exhibition is juried by Robert Gentile, Curatorial Programs Manager, Artlink

About the Juror:
Residing in Downtown Phoenix, AZ since 2008, much of Robert’s work is derived from his graffiti roots as a kid growing up in New York.  He has morphed those influences into what he produces today. His identity as an artist, he believes, is constantly trying to define itself as he continuously strives to grow and learn as a professional artist. "There is an aesthetic beauty in everything around us and I try to incorporate my life's experiences into what I produce. The therapeutic benefits of being able to express myself through art has also saved my life,"  he says. He describes his work as Urban Contemporary and uses a variety of mediums in his work.

Professionally, he owns and operates a co-working artist studio called Grand Arthaus. He is also the Curatorial Program Manager for Artlink and Director of Mood Room and Sisao Galleries. He holds an MBA and BFA from NYIT with the goal of one day running his own non-profit organization that revolves around art therapy for kids. He has worked as a mural artist, graphic designer, counselor and has volunteered with Free Arts of Arizona as a mentor.
