From Curate to Cure: Artists on Health and Wellness

Please join us for this in-person roundtable discussion exploring ideas from Daisy Fancourt’s book “Art Cure,” selected for the 2026-2027 ASU Common Read.

With an introduction by Writing Programs' Director Roger Thompson and moderated by Instructor Adam Hoffman, a panel of artists – who are also teachers, curators and health advocates – discusses personal approaches to creativity, artistic practice, and wellness. Featured panelists include:

• Cala Coats, Associate Professor and Head of Art Education, Arizona State University
• Barbara Crawford, Professor of Art and Art History, Southern Virginia University 
• Ty Defoe, Professor of Practice in English, Arizona State University and Co-Founder, Indigenous Direction
• Kat Kiernan, Artist, Writer, Curator and Manager of Public Programs, The Morgan Library and Museum, New York City
