Please join us for this in-person roundtable discussion exploring ideas from Daisy Fancourt’s book “Art Cure,” selected for the 2026-2027 ASU Common Read.

A panel of artists – who are also teachers, curators and health advocates – discusses personal approaches to creativity, artistic practice, and wellness. Featured panelists include:

  • Cala Coats, Associate Professor and Head of Art Education, Arizona State University
  • Barbara Crawford, Professor of Art and Art History, Southern Virginia University 
  • Ty Defoe, Professor of Practice in English, Arizona State University and Co-Founder, Indigenous Direction
  • Kat Kiernan, Artist, Writer, Curator and Manager of Public Programs, The Morgan Library and Museum, New York City

All are welcome.

This event is presented as part of Humanities Week 2026 by Writing Programs in the Department of English at ASU, with support from ASU’s School of Art.
