The Steamboat Institute, in partnership with the School of Civic and Economic Thought and Leadership, is proud to present a compelling debate on the following resolution: Be it resolved, the U.S. federal government should make reducing the national debt a fiscal priority. Arguing the affirmative is Steve Moore, senior visiting fellow in economics, The Heritage Foundation. Arguing the negative is Stephanie Kelton, bestselling author of "The Deficit Myth"; professor of economics and public policy, Stony Brook University. Moderator is Carrie Sheffield, senior policy analyst, Independent Women’s Voice; Tony Blankley senior fellow, Steamboat Institute.
