CAIS Film Series: Arabic & Islamic Civilization
The BBC Documentary “Arabic and Islamic Civilization” explores the significant advancements and contributions made during the Golden Age of Islam and throughout history. From astronomical discoveries like Alendi's calculation of the Earth's tilt to scientific breakthroughs in physics and optics by Ibn al-Haytham, innovative engineering by figures like El Jaari and Al-Jazari, as well as artistic innovations in lusterware and the perfume industry, the Islamic civilization excelled in various fields. Education, Philosophy, Theology, Astronomy, Chemistry, Metaphysics, Mathematics, Algebra, Translation and Epistemology were but part of the scientific knowledge developed during the Golden Age of Islam.
