President of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham-Amrita University (Amrita University), top-ranked among the universities in India, Swami Amritaswarupananda Puri is senior disciple of world-renowned humanitarian spiritual leader Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma) and also Vice-Chairman of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math. In 1989, Swami Amritaswarupananda Puri initiated AYUDH, an international youth movement dedicated to empowering young people to contribute to a peaceful and sustainable world and become compassionate leaders with a sense of tolerance, solidarity, and global responsibility. In 2023 the Government of India appointed Amma as the Chair of Civil 20(C20) during its Presidency of the G20. Under the stewardship of Swami Amritaswarupananda Puri, policies were developed by the C20’s 16 working groups to address crucial challenges.
