Important details:

Project details:

  • Displaced Voices: Unearthing Eviction Inequities Through Data Science: Arizona has one of the highest eviction rates in the nation, disproportionately affecting low-income households and communities of color. Using publicly available data from sources such as the U.S. Census and county records, this project offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in exploring data insights to understand social equity issues. We will analyze eviction rates by year and geographic location and then assess how current policies impact housing insecurity. Learn to organize, visualize and interpret data, as well as how to develop and improve your analysis step by step.
  • Green Fault Lines: Climate Change, Conflict and Environmental Collective Action: Climate change is a multifaceted global challenge that demands a multifaceted approach to tackle it. It extends beyond environmental degradation, influencing social, economic and political dynamics worldwide. Understanding the intricate relationships between climate change, conflict and societal responses is crucial for developing effective policies and fostering global resilience. In this project, we take multifaceted approach in studying climate change. It focuses on four key areas: Public Perception and Opposition to Climate Change and Adaptation Policies, International Collective Action on Climate Change, Social Media and Climate Change Policy Support and Opposition, and Climate Change and Conflict.
