Vertixe Sonora (Spain) presents an evening of cutting-edge contemporary music, featuring bold sound explorations and innovative compositions by national and international artists. Join us for a unique sonic experience that pushes the boundaries of musical expression. Vertixe Sonora, founded in Galicia (Spain) in 2011, is a leading contemporary music ensemble recognized for its innovative and cross-disciplinary approach. The group has commissioned over 300 works by emerging and established composers, performed at major festivals worldwide, released three albums, their work has been the topic of three documentary films through its annual Festival.

The ensemble will be in residence at ASU Jan. 24-27, presenting workshops, readings of new works by ASU composers, and a talk about art and entrepreneurship in contemporary music. Their residency culminates in this concert of contemporary music that evokes ancient ritual, exploring the fragility and resilience of life through sound.

The residency was coordinated by Prof. Fernanda Navarro with the support of Ibermusicas and the School of Music Dance and Theater at ASU.  The ensemble fosters dialogue between music, philosophy, science, and technology, promoting inclusivity and cultural exchange. Vertixe Sonora also founded the Galician Institute of Sonology and represents Spain in the International Society for Contemporary Music.
