The History of the Future: Prospect
Event description
- Arts and entertainment
Join ASU's Center for Science and the Imagination in partnership with Majestic Neighborhood Cinema in Tempe to view Prospect on the silver screen. This screening is part of a greater film series: The History of the Future, exploring gripping, cinematic visions of the future across the past four decades.
Join us Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. to take a step back to 2018 for a theatrical screening of Prospect. The provocative film starring Pedro Pascal in a new frontier, mining precious minerals in a jungle on a far away planet.
The film will be introduced by award winning scholar, Dr. Jenna Hanchey, who focuses her research around African Futurism and impacts of a colonial past. Listen as she connects the frontier seen in Prospect to one’s we are still familiar with today.
Tickets are $8.00, plus applicable taxes and service charges. A limited number of free tickets for ASU students are available on a first-come, first-served basis, courtesy of your Imaginary Friends at CSI. Stop by Memorial Union on ASU Campus on November 6th and 7th to get one! You must be a currently enrolled ASU student and have an @asu.edu email address to claim a free ticket.
Be sure to arrive early to take advantage of Majestic's dining experience and get your hands on our free, limited-edition History of the Future stickers.
