'If We Were Villains': An Evening with M.L. Rio

In this ASU event, M.L. Rio, "dark academia" author of "If We Were Villains" (Flatiron 2017), reads from her bestselling novel about actors, Shakespeare, and murder. Rio will also be interviewed by a panel of ASU undergraduate students about her experiences as a fiction writer and an academic (she holds an MA in Shakespeare studies from King’s College London and Shakespeare’s Globe and a PhD in English literature from the University of Maryland).

Rio's visit is hosted by the Department of English's literature program with additional support from ASU's Arizona Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies, Center for Imagination in the Borderlands, Humanities Institute, and Professor Natalie Diaz.
