Hope and Healing for Divided Societies: Lessons from Northern Ireland

Gary Mason is a Methodist minister who completed his theological studies at Queens University and holds a PhD from the University of Ulster. He was also awarded an honorary Doctorate in Divinity for his role in peace building in Ireland from Florida Southern College. He is affiliated and partnered with various university programs dedicated to diplomatic negotiations and has given numerous lectures on conflict transformation at American universities.

Prior to founding Rethinking Conflict, Mason spent 28 years as a clergy person in Belfast and was involved in the Northern Irish Peace Process. He has been and continues to be a close advisor to Protestant ex-combatants on the civilianization efforts of paramilitaries.

The lecture will consist of a special lecture by Gary Mason, followed by audience Q&A and a reception offering light refreshments.
