Opening Reception: Sin Nombre en Esta Tierra Sagrad

Event description

  • Arts and entertainment
  • Open to the public

“Sin Nombre en Esta Tierra Sagrada,” is an MFA thesis exhibition in Photography by Elizabeth Z. Pineda.

“Sin Nombre en Esta Tierra Sagrada” is a meditative series of works rooted in the Arizona desert, a place that, in all its beauty, holds unimaginable despair and sorrow. The exhibition honors the thousands of migrant lives lost crossing the luminous landscape in desperate need of a new home. Through evocative, non-representational works, the fleeting elegiac gestures suggest the final moments migrants experience before they perish, acknowledging their humanity and giving voice to these unseen peoples that ultimately reside within the desert soil.
