Celebrate the history and contributions of the Hispanic/Latino community in Chandler, Arizona, at this reception centered around the oral history project of ASU historian and assistant professor of Southwest Borderlands Rafael Martinez Orozco, "Querencia: Place and Belonging in Chandler." The project is collecting life stories of people from different Hispanic/Latino neighborhoods from across decades and generations.

The stories of the first 12 participants in this project are featured in a new exhibit of the same name at the Chandler Museum, which runs through Oct. 15. Read or listen to the full oral history interviews on this Chandlerpedia site for the project.

The Querencia exhibit is supported by a grant from the City of Chandler Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Division, with additional support from Arizona State University's College of Integrative Sciences and Arts (CISA) and the Chandler Museum Foundation.
