'The Revolutionary Story of Boston’s John Hancock: Merchant Prince and American Patriot' with Brooke Barbier
Event description
- Academic events
During the 1760s and 1770s, colonists in British North America faced a crisis that led to revolution. Parliament increasingly threatened colonists' right to self-governance, but not everyone agreed about how and when to respond. John Hancock, famous for his signature on the Declaration of Independence, had a pivotal role in these events from start to finish. Author of a new biography of Hancock, Brooke Barbier will give a new perspective on the American Revolution by highlighting his role.
