Smart Links and Lists: Direct Students with Clear, Descriptive Text

In this session, you’ll learn why it's critical to design instructional materials with descriptive hyperlinks and properly formatted lists. You'll also explore how to write meaningful and descriptive link text and best practices for formatting numbered and bulleted lists. The best part? These practical strategies can be used across multiple tools!

  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Google Docs
  • Google Slides
  • Canvas LMS

Workshop Agenda

  • Introduction and Informational Content (RECORDED): 10:00 - 10:20 a.m.
    • During this portion, the topic is introduced, key concepts are highlighted, and helpful context and background is provided.
  • Hands-On Application: 10:20 - 10:40 a.m.
    • Interactive segment where participants take action and complete 1 to 3 practical steps to practice what they just learned.
  • Live Q&A: 10:40 - 11:00 a.m.
    • Open Q&A during which participants can clarify concepts, share experiences, and troubleshoot challenges in real time.
