Smile! You're On Camera | Opening reception

"Smile, You're On Camera!" is an exhibition of undergraduate and graduate work by the students in the School of Art. The exhibition highlights the relation a new generation of artists has towards the omnipresence of photographic imaging in contemporary culture. They explore the loss of agency implied by the constant presence of cameras and computer vision, the behaviors modeled after this gaze and the level of autonomy networked photography gains during this process. Their work ranges from video, installation, performance, sculpture and sound in relation to photography.
