Soundsites: Sonoran Perspectives

Event description

  • Arts and entertainment

The Interdisciplinary Arts & Performance (IAP) program is proud to present Soundsites: Sonoran Perspectives, a sound and video installation by IAP faculty member Dr. Charles Eppley. The exhibit explores inconspicuous soundscapes and imagery of the Sonoran Desert and the urban Phoenix metropolitan area using multichannel audio/video. The vignettes shown will reflect on the nuanced relationship between sound and site, and how geographical, cultural, and personal knowledge is formed through a hybrid process of looking/listening. Scenes recorded around Phoenix area, including desert, urban, and urban-desert environments.
