This lecture provides a glimpse into the turbulent dynamics of the successive representations of
"Eastern Europe" in the history of international relations, from the imperial approach of Zwicheneuropa to the current EU's Eastern Neighborhood.
Keynote: Valentin NAUMESCU
Valentin Naumescu is full professor of international relations at Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj, faculty of European studies, the director of the Centre for the Study of the EU's External Relations and the Global Order and the president of the think tank The Initiative for European Democratic Culture. He was Secretary of State in the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2005-2007) and Consul General of Romania in Toronto (2008-2012). His most recent book is "Great Powers' Foreign Policy: Approaching the Global Competition and the Russian War against the West" (Brill, 2023)
