Stellar Alumni Reading Series: Aimée Baker and Leah Myers

The Creative Writing Program in the Department of English at ASU presents a reading by two of its star graduates: poet/podcaster Aimée Baker (MFA 2008) and nonfiction writer Leah Myers (BA 2017). The event takes place on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023 at 7 p.m. in Ross-Blakley Hall (RBHL), room 196 on ASU's Tempe campus.

Aimée Baker is the author of the Akron Prize-winning collection of poetry "Doe" (University of Akron Press) about missing and unidentified women. "Doe," and Baker’s work on it, was the subject of the award-winning documentary "She" starring Kate Mulgrew, Coco Jones, and Raven Goodwin. Baker lives in upstate New York where she is at work on a collection of essays and co-hosting the podcast She Goes by Jane. 

Leah Myers is a member of the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe of the Pacific Northwest. She earned her MFA in creative nonfiction from the University of New Orleans, where she won the Samuel Mockbee Award for Nonfiction two years in a row. She now lives in Alabama, with roots in Georgia, Arizona and Washington. Her work has previously appeared in The Atlantic, Craft Literary Magazine, Fugue Journal​ and elsewhere. Her debut memoir, "Thinning Blood," is published by W.W. Norton and received a rave review in the New York Times.
