Storming Caesars Palace: Film Screening and Discussion

Event description
Join us for a preview screening of an exclusive hour-long excerpt of Storming Caesars Palace, followed by a community discussion with local Black activists representing marginalized gender identities. Our panelists work in the fields of child welfare, birthing justice, mutual aid and political education. We will be discussing the need to uplift Black activist voices and how to support their efforts (speaker info will be updated soon).

About the film
After losing her job as a hotel worker in Las Vegas, Ruby Duncan joined a welfare rights group of mothers who defied notions of the “welfare queen.” In a fight for guaranteed income, Ruby and other equality activists took on the Nevada mob in organizing a massive protest that shut down Caesars Palace.
