Crisis support organizations (CSOs) in the behavioral health field play a vital role in prioritizing community-based care over institutionalization, even as many persons with mental health conditions (PMHC) experience acute psychiatric symptoms and suicidal behaviors that may necessitate hospitalization. This project examines the multilevel barriers and facilitators encountered by both service providers and users of crisis services in Arizona. The findings aim to identify key attributes of service users, providers, and policies that support the development of community-based mental health services (CMH) while advocating for the human rights of individuals with mental health conditions.
