October–November 

The CDC is partnering with ASU on a longitudinal study to investigate immune response of influenza and COVID-19 vaccines.

Vaccination: Participants will be randomly assigned an FDA approved influenza and COVID-19 vaccine that will be administered simultaneously or 28 days apart.

Blood draw: There will be a blood collection for every in- person visit to measure antibody waning.

Weekly follow-up survey: For surveillance purposes, participants will complete a brief survey to determine the presence of new flu-like symptoms.

Those who qualify: Healthy adults 18–64 that have not received the current season's influenza or COVID-19 vaccination in the past six months. 

Involves: 

  • Voluntary participation throughout the flu season
  • Up to 6 visits
  • Up to $200 compensation
