The Impact Water Idea Jam welcomes students of all disciplines to a half-day jam to generate innovate ideas addressing the Arizona Colorado River water crisis through immersive applications in XR, VR and other creative media. No technical experience is required; this event is all about idea generating. Students of all majors and disciplines are invited to participate.

During this half-day jam, participants will:

  • enjoy complimentary lunch

  • be introduced to the Arizona Colorado River water crisis facing Arizona residents

  • learn about different modes of immersive environments, including VR headset experiences, desktop games, and theatrical/installation art

  • work in small, cross-disciplinary teams to ideate immersive experiences to galvanize public action towards positively impacting the Arizona Colorado River water crisis. Examples could include: create a 360* immersive film; create a level-based or RPG game in a game engine of your choice; create a role-playing drama that could be performed inside a Metaverse; all creative ideas welcome!
