Worlds for Change XRts Industry Salon

The Worlds for Change XRts Industry Salon is an afternoon celebration of XR and worldbuilding, featuring a dynamic slate of trailblazing industry speakers and groundbreaking immersive projects by Volvox Labs and SudoMagic.

Join us for the Welcome Brunch at the Media and Immersive eXperience (MIX) Center lobby and a reflection on "Frida," a mesmerizing immersive project by SudoMagic in partnership with Cocolab. Hear from creative pioneers including Gabo Arora of Lightshed and TecnoLatinx XR Labs Co-Founder Martha Mendizabal at the Immersive Storytelling Career Paths Panel. Take a studio visit to the JEDI Space Station with XRts Immersive Media Fellow Sian Proctor, Afrofuturism artist and mission pilot for SpaceX Inspiration4, the first all-civilian orbital mission.

In the evening, Volvox Lab’s "Teleportal," an immersive installation interweaving participants’ dream destinations into a collective media landscape, invites attendees into a one-of-a-kind experience at the MIX Center's Enhanced Immersion Studio.

Following your XRts Salon registration, look out for an invite to an electrifying party marking the grand finale of the day and featuring performances, music and live painting by local immersive legends including Randy Barton and the Sacred G’s. 

The afternoon Salon event is free and open to the general public.

The party, beginning at 6 p.m., is by invitation to registered guests over 21.

Worlds for Change Challenge is a distributed worldbuilding festival with the opportunity to win scholarships valued at $60,000 to one of ASU’s new transdisciplinary XRts graduate degree programs plus other cash, tech and experience prizes. The Challenge kicks off September 2023 and culminates at SXSW 2024.
