ASU Humanities Faculty Authors' Reception

2017 book talk and humanities authors' reception

Please join us for the annual Humanities Faculty Authors Reception, hosted by the Institute for Humanities Research and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. This event recognizes and celebrates humanities faculty authors from Arizona State University and the substantial body of humanistic research reflected in their publications.

We will honor the winner of the 2017 IHR Transdisciplinary Book Award, Charles T. Lee and his book "Ingenious Citizenship: Recrafting Democracy for Social Change."

By bridging cultural and political theory, Lee’s work shows the ingenious and improvisational ways people disrupt and appropriate practices of liberal citizenship. Using narrative examples to critically reinterpret political agency, citizenship, and social transformation, Lee reveals the possibilities of organizing change within a human rights discourse.

The event will be held in the Thoren and Traditions Room of University Club.
