Albie Micklich and Andrew Campbell present works for bassoon and piano by Amanda Harberg, Damian Montano, Georg Philipp Telemann, and a world premiere by Jenni Brandon. Elizabeth Buck, Heather Landes, Michael Kocour, Corcoran Holt, and Robert Carillo will join for tunes for two flutes, bassoon, and jazz trio by Stevie Wonder and John Coltrane.

“Tales from Around the World”
Join the ASU Wind Symphony as we celebrate the start of a new semester. The Wind Symphony plays exciting works by Scott McAllister and John Mackey as well as Ron Nelson’s musical travelogue, “Courtly Airs and Dances.”
The Wind Ensemble starts their season off with Lilli Boulanger’s “D’un matin de printemps”
music and is joined by Director of Athletic Bands for a performance of Vincent Persichetti’s monumental Symphony 6 for Band.
“Sheltering Sky” by John Mackey
Following performances in Baltimore, Washington D.C., Seattle, and Chicago, Beyond This Point (Chicago) and Arx Duo (Seattle) seek to present reimagined performances of Michael Gordon’s monumental percussion sextet Timber in Arizona in Feb/Mar 2024. The 60-minute work is performed entirely on six slats of amplified wood and is presented with a reactive lighting installation comprising more than 5000 LEDs and dozens of paper lantern “houses”.
Pianist Artina McCain will take us on a unique musical journey called "Intersections." Intersections is a program connecting the dots between standard classical repertoire and underrepresented repertoire. Artina McCain will take the audience on a journey of human intersections from motherhood, social issues and joy with styles ranging from the sacred to jazz influenced. Featuring works by Debussy, Joseph Joubert, Maria Corley, Liszt, Ravel, Errolyn Wallen and others.
An evening of German Lieder by Schubert and friends with ASU faculty member Stephanie Weiss, mezzo-soprano and guest artists from James Madison University, Kevin McMillan, baritone and Gabriel Dobner, piano.
Viennese organist Johannes Ebenbauer performs and improvises a concert of organ fantasies, including works by Frescobaldi, Froberger, Bach and Heiller.

Each month our community of talented producers meet for 60 Min Flips. The group receives a track to sample, recorded straight from vinyl, and is given 60 minutes to create a beat in any style, any genre. Open to all ASU students.
