Why are women still underrepresented in comedy lineups, TV writers rooms, and Netflix specials? Do you have to be “pretty,” “ugly,” or “old” to succeed as a woman in comedy or just better than everyone else? This event goes behind the curtain of the comedy industry to examine how gender bias, beauty standards, and ageism affect who gets booked and who gets famous. Bringing together local Phoenix area women comedians, this panel and workshop hybrid explores how gatekeeping, audience expectations, and industry economics shape the careers of women in comedy.

Join the McLin/Campbell duo as they celebrate 35 years performing together with a program featuring works by Brahms, Zwillich, and Korngold.
