From Experience to Empowerment: Leveraging Personal Stories in Social Work

Building on three years of collaboration between the School of Social Work’s Community Collaborative and South Mountain Community College’s Storytelling Institute, this training welcomes social workers of all levels to learn about personal storytelling in their practice in clinical work, advocacy, administration, and more. This novel model combines narrative therapy and personal storytelling.

Join ASU College of Health Solutions Cancer Prevention and Control Translational Team for a one-day, in-person workshop featuring new research and community support efforts by Arizona leaders who share a common interest in preventing and controlling cancer. The goal of this workshop is to enhance community connections, research collaborations and student engagement that aim to ultimately improve cancer prevention and control.

One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. If detected early, nearly all breast cancer can be treated successfully. Assured Imaging will be onsite at the Downtown Phoenix campus on Wednesday, April 10 from 1 p.m.–4 p.m. offering 3D mammogram screenings for breast cancer.
