Join College of Integrative Sciences and arts faculty member Marie-Louise Paulesc, PhD, for a screening and discussion of the 2007 Romanian film 'California Dreamin'.
This culture-clash comedy-drama, set in 1999, is about a U.S. Marine Corps detachment sent to an out-of-the-way Romanian village after some bureaucratic haggling. The film was the directorial debut of Cristian Nemescu, who co-wrote the script with Catherine Linstrum and Tudor Voican. The 27-year-old Nemescu was killed in a car accident weeks after shooting ended.
The Center for Constitutional Design will host a conversation about whether the First Amendment continues to protect free expression in contemporary American society.
