These sessions will provide a broad introduction to a variety of major fellowships that provide funding for graduate or professional study, both domestically and abroad. Key programs include the Marshall, Rhodes, Gates Cambridge, and Knight-Hennessy Scholarships, among many others. Ideal for current juniors or graduating seniors, but open to any current ASU student or recent graduate.

This information session will provide an overview of the ACLS/Mellon Dissertation Innovation Award, which supports PhD students who are seeking additional support to go above and beyond with their plans to conduct innovative research on the subjective human experience. Ideal for early graduate students in the humanities and interpretive social sciences who are completing their coursework or have just completed their coursework; the award is open to both domestic and international students. 

This information session will provide an overview of competitive fellowships that can be used to support different steps of the dissertation process, such as: research design, data collection and analysis, and writing the dissertation. We will explore awards such as the Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Innovation Fellowship, the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program, the Google PhD Fellowship, the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, the AAUW International Fellowship, the Chateaubriand Fellowship, the Boren Fellowship, and the AAUW American Dissertation Fellowship.

These information sessions are the first step for collaborating with ONSA on awards that support graduate study and research. They occur on the third Tuesday of every month and are a general introduction to finding competitive fellowships and grants that support graduate students’ development as researchers and scholars. Attendees will be introduced to resources and tools to locate awards in addition to tips about best practices for developing competitive applications.
