Mental Health Awareness Month Series

Nurturing our children’s mental health early in life helps to set them up for a successful transition into young adulthood. Please join Tai Hooper, LPC in the ASU Employee Assistance Office, for a 30-minute session on understanding and supporting children’s mental health. Participants will learn strategies to support our children’s mental health, as well as potential red flags when our children may need additional mental health support.

Relax and recuperate with a 30-minute stretching and flexibility class. This class focuses on deep stretches and body mobility to release tension and stress held within the spine, joints and connective tissues. Erica Medlin, assistant director at the Polytechnic campus Sun Devil Fitness Complex, will lead this class.

Aging brings challenges for everyone. Elaine Poker-Yount will examine it from multiple perspectives, including priorities, clear assessments, emotional and practical realities, communication and decision-making strategies, and the importance of perspective, balance, boundaries, and other often-missed practicalities.  She is an aging and dementia care specialist dedicated to empowering families and care partners through awareness, understanding, and meeting individuals where they are in their journey.

A better night's rest is waiting for you. Learn about the benefits of sleep, strategies to improve your sleep, and evidence-based tips to get the restful night’s sleep you’ve been dreaming of.
