ASU Faculty Showcase for Excellence in Teaching in Digital Learning Environments

Have you ever wondered what teaching strategies your colleagues employ in their courses? Are you looking to expand your instructional strategies?

Join us for this 60-minute webinar to learn what your peers are doing in their teaching. Each faculty will present on a creative teaching practice that has been employed in their courses.

Join us for a panel discussion exploring the intersection of science, technology, and military innovation. This conversation examines how technological, scientific, and medical expectations have compared with real-world applications in military contexts throughout history. Panelists bring expertise in teaching Military and Veterans Studies and Science, Technology, and Society programs in various areas of research, including the development of light vehicles in 20th-century warfare, helicopter technology, and Igor Sikorsky's contributions, as well as innovations in French military medicine.

The aspirational stance of environmental, queer and urban humanities can help us better understand the opportunities and risks associated with the humanities reaching outward, especially in the context of so-called societal challenges, complex problems, and missions. This panel will present some recent work on the “aspirational humanities”, including their framing, epistemology, imaginaries and tensions. We will discuss how an aspirational humanities relates to the “how” of humanistic critical engagement in the world and a “new university” powered by critical-connective tissue.
