Join celebrated gardener, writer, and historian Abra Lee for a special event at Desert Botanical Garden on March 6. Lee will share stories behind key figures from her upcoming book Conquer the Soil. Her talk will focus on the lives of African Americans with careers in horticulture and gardening. In collaboration with Desert Botanical Garden, Lee will be joined by local gardeners and horticulturalists for a discussion about empowering lives through gardening.

Salve-Making Workshop with Sharah Nieto

Join Sharah Nieto for an engaging lecture and workshop to make your very own creosote salve! Participants will learn the step-by-step process of creating creosote salve, including ingredient selection, oil infusion and preparation. This workshop aims to empower participants with the skills to produce their own creosote salve at home, fostering a sense of self-sufficiency.
