Flute-Making Workshop with Aaron White

Saturday, February 17th, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

We are excited to offer the unique experience of handcrafting a flute with Native American artist, Aaron White. Using local materials, Aaron will guide you through the process of shaping, sanding, decorating, sealing and song-making your very own flute.

It has been estimated that only two percent of students at Mountain View Elementary School have parents who attended college. To encourage the possibility for students who may not hear or have such discussions at home each class has a collegiate nickname. One fifth grade class is identified as ASU. Our chapter works with that class in three ways each spring. The first is an Introduction to Journalism class which culminates with the students breaking up into groups of two. They interview each other and write stories about their future college plans.

We will be hosting a fundraising drive benefitting the Humane Society of Austin. Pets will be available for adoption at this event!

We will also be offering wristbands - for a suggested minimum donation of $10 - in exchange for drink discounts from the venue.

When: Saturday, March 2 at 2 p.m. Central Time
Where: Lazarus Brewing Co.

The Center for the Study of Race and Democracy (CSRD), in partnership with the Sedona Arts Center, is hosting the second annual Vision and Sound symposium. This year's keynote speaker is Dr. Chip Thomas, an accomplished Arizona physician, photographer, public artist, and activist. Dr. Thomas has practiced medicine and created art in the Navajo Nation since 1987.
