You are invited to Arizona State University’s West campus for the seventh annual Cybersecurity Challenge.
This event brings talented minds from Arizona high schools and colleges together to solve challenging, real-world problems that today’s cyber professionals, digital forensic scientists and network/security/system engineers face.
This year the event organizers will host a cybersecurity boot camp before the challenge to teach the basic concepts and principles of cybersecurity and digital forensics, and introduce practical tools and open source systems for traffic analysis and deep packet investigation.
The Cybersecurity Bootcamp includes:
- Introduction to Linux Operating System.
- TCP/IP and Networking Fundamentals.
- Overview of Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics.
The Cybersecurity Challenge includes:
- Digital forensic analytics for detecting and analyzing cyber-attacks.
- Identifying and patching a series of cross-layer vulnerabilities in the networking devices or end systems.
- Analyzing the structure, content, behaviors and potential damage of mysterious executables and virus/worm packets.
Full-Day Registration:
- 8:30–9 a.m. Bootcamp Registration
- 9–11:30 a.m. Cybersecurity Bootcamp
- 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Lunch (Free for full-day registration)
- 12:30–2:30 p.m. Cybersecurity Challenge
- 2:30–3 p.m. Final Scoring and Awards

- Noon–12:30 p.m. Challenge Registration
- 12:30–2:30 p.m. Cybersecurity Challenge
- 2:30–3 p.m. Final Scoring and Awards
Important things to know:
- Event is FREE.
- Open to High School through College Students.
- Free lunch for full-day registered guests.
- Registration will close once all spots are full.
