Print and the Protest Exhibit

Letterpress block letters in metal and wood spelling out Print and the Protest

The ASU Library is proud to feature “Print and the Protest,” a new exhibit at Fletcher Library. The exhibit will be open Oct. 5 until Dec. 10.

The works exhibited feature prints made by students in the “Print and the Protest” course during the spring 2022 semester. This cross-listed course is co-taught by faculty from both Interdisciplinary Arts and Performance and English programs housed in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Cultural Studies (SHArCS).

In the course, students learned the art of letterpress and studied the role of print in histories of protest. Combining literary and historical analysis of movements for social changes, this course offered students hands-on experience producing prints of their own design.
