Have you ever wanted to learn how to bind and design your own journal or diary?

Come join the Labriola Center at West Valley campus for Coptic Bookbinding! Coptic bookbinding, or Coptic stitch bookbinding, is an ancient art form used to bind pages of a book together without glue or staples.

Our Labriola archivist and librarian, Vina Begay will be instructing attendees on how to create their very own journal using acid free paper, a bookbinding kit, and coptic stitching.

In partnership with Albertsons/Safeway, ASU Employee Health will provide the new monovalent COVID-19 vaccine to ASU employees and their covered dependents at various ASU greater Phoenix locations.

Both Pfizer (Comirnaty) and Moderna (Spikevas) are available to participants 12 years and older. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends receiving the vaccine at least two months after your last COVID-19 dose.

Celebrate Native American heritage and honor the contributions of all U.S. veterans at the Native American Heritage Festival featuring the 20th Annual Veterans Day Weekend Traditional Pow Wow on Fletcher Library Lawn at ASU’s West campus.

The centerpiece of the event — the Pow Wow — is a traditional gathering of dancers, drummers, elders and families. A gallery exhibition of Native Veteran prints will be unveiled. Featuring food trucks, Native arts and crafts vendors, and non profit organizations.

This exhibit brings together Chicanx, Latinx and Hispanic personal experiences and achievements of faculty, staff and students at ASU along with artworks by NASA Psyche Inspired Creative Interns and Phoenix-based Peruvian artist Carlos Valcarcel. These individuals come from different disciplinary backgrounds across the ASU community and beyond. Their stories show the diversity of Chicanx, Latinx and Hispanic experience and why representation matters across the sciences and humanities.
