What is Recreation Therapy, who does it serve, and why does it matter? This session provides a big picture view of the profession’s roots, values, and the powerful role it plays in health and well-being.

About the lecture: Worldly success is an important aspect of human flourishing, and Jews have excelled in that type of success in the modern period. Professor Eisen will argue on the basis of his most recent book that traditional rabbinic Judaism played a critical in preparing Jews for worldly success, even though the rabbis who shaped that form of Judaism never envisioned it serving this role.
