The Arizona Imaging and Microanalysis Society hosts an annual conference every spring. This annual meeting provides a forum for members to discuss research and exchange ideas, as well as an opportunity for learning about new techniques and concepts. 

Hacking for the Social Good

Hosted by Project Humanities at Arizona State University, Hacks for Humanity is a 36-hour entrepreneurial marathon that challenges participants to create technical solutions and initiatives to address local and global issues by implementing these seven Humanity 101 principles: compassion, empathy, forgiveness, integrity, kindness, respect and self-reflection.

A Workforce Resources roundtable hosted by the Office for Veteran and Military Academic Engagement at Arizona State University will provide a gathering of Veterans support and resources to prepare Veteran seeking employment or career advancement opportunities.

The event will offer information on workforce trends, resume building information, interview skills and opportunities to network with career navigators. Members of state government, local non-profits and veteran organizations will be available to support the Veterans attending this event.

The excessive translational failure rates of pre-clinical laboratory animal model studies calls for alternative approaches which can better inform on the development of biomedical innovations. 

Compared to laboratory animals, companion dogs are a phenotypically diverse population which naturally develop neoplastic, cardiovascular, infectious, metabolic, neurological, orthopedic, and autoimmune diseases with similarity to humans.

Throughout the month of October, ASU benefits-eligible employees can receive a free flu shot as part of the employee wellness program.

Arizona State University benefits-eligible employees can get a 30-minute health screening. Several tests, including readings on cholesterol, blood pressure and triglycerides are available free of charge.

Other tests are available for as low as a $20 copay. Cash, check, MasterCard or Visa are accepted. Bring your ASU ID and health insurance cards.
